Requirements to the exam
Last update: MUDr. Lenka Zátopková, Ph.D. (11.02.2024)

Only students who have the subject "Forensic medicine " currently assigned in SIS can participate in lessons.

All lessons WILL TAKE PART in the education class in the Institute of legal medicine building in Hradec Králové in the Faculty hospital (the building 5/1)

In the case of the distance form of the lectures, you will get an email with the link label of the electronic version of the course.

Practical classes:

Students are required to attend all practical classes. Their presence will be checked at the beginning of each practical class by the teacher, who will read the student's names from the signature list, and each student is due to confirm his presence orally. We will not be accepted late coming. Also, we will not grant the attendance as an afterthought.

One legitimate absence is allowed. In case of missing more practical classes, the student must write specialized overview paperwork, focusing on one of the selected medicolegal topics (5–12 sides, Times New Roman size 12, line spacing 2). This paperwork should keep the basic rules of specialized overview paperwork. This paperwork must be delivered to the Department's Executive secretary (L. Zátopková, M.D.) at least ten days before the final exam's term. After the revision, the credit will be booked. In case of a long-lasting absence due to health issues (which have to be confirmed by the doctor), this substitution will be solved individually with the Department's Executive secretary (L. Zátopková, M.D.). All answers about the possible absences or timetable changes have to be consulted with the Department's Executive secretary (L. Zátopková, M.D.) – only in written form.

Credit:

The Department's Executive secretary will give credits under these conditions:

- the completion of all lectures;

- the completion of all practical classes (as the upside) encompassing possible verification of the theoretical knowledge during the practical classes.

We will sign you the credit into the SIS after the successful passing of the final exam test, and then in case of need into the credit books – after the previous agreement of the possible term (with dr. Zátopková).

Final examination:

THE FINAL EXAM WILL BE REALIZED IN THE WRITTEN FORM – BY THE EXAM TEST IN THE MOODLE PLATFORM.

The completion conditions for the credit assignation are necessary.

The exam test's terms will be shown in SIS. Only the guarantee of the subject can decide about the terms except for the term's period (pre-terms). These pre-terms will be realized after completing all lessons, and students will be allowed to sign to these pre-terms after the end of their practical classes.  Students are allowed to sign to the exam only by using SIS. Students can cancel their final exam's participation only by using SIS and at the latest 24 hours before the exam's beginning. We will accept the apology due to health reasons only if the student brings the doctor's examination and confirmation. If the student passes the test without apology, he will lose the term in SIS.

The test contains 60 questions concerning the essential forensic medicine topics (based on the topics from all lessons – detaily described in syllabi, except the practical examples of the calculation of alcoholaemia), choosing from 3 answers (single choice test). Few questions are based on knowledge of the essential forensic medicine findings showing in the photos. The limit for passing is 60 minutes.

For passing the test, it is necessary to get at least 40 correct answers.

The detailed evaluation is here:

60–54 – 1 (excellent)

53–48 – 2 (very good)

47–40 – 3 (good)

39 and less – 4

After the successful passing, we will write you the mark and the credit into the SIS. We can realize the signing of the credit and the test results into the credit books (in case of need) after the previous agreement of the possible term (with dr. Zátopková).

All answers will be solved by Lenka Zátopková, M. D., Ph.D. (Executive secretary) or Vladana Kadeřávková (Department's secretary) – but only in written form!
