The main aim of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical aspects of the study of
pharmacogenomics and
oncogenomics, especially in the context of cancer treatment, including clinical
applications and their limitations.

In the first part of the course, students are introduced to the basic concepts and aspects of the process of carcinogenesis as well as to the fundamentals, characteristics and goal of pharmacogenomics and oncogenomics in the individualization of cancer therapy. In the next part of the course, students will learn about different methods of studying genomics with a focus on modern next-generation sequencing technologies, pharmacogenetic interactions and, last but not least, the perspective and future of pharmacogenomics and oncogenomics in clinical practice.
