The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic terms in medical informatics, information systems and

basic sources of information.

Theoretical part with practical examples
1. Information and its types.
2. Information
sources: primary, secondary, tertiary.
3. Citation standards: ISO 690 01 0197, ICMJE Recommendations.

3.Bibliometrics and scientometrics: citation method.
4.Indexing, thesauri, Medical Subject Headings - MESH.

Web of Knowledge, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Biological Abstracts,
Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents,

In the course of medical informatics, students are theoretically introduced to the basic terms of the field and principles related to

scientific work and the publication of scientific results. They will learn how to work with professional full-text and citation and

bibliographic databases.
