The student understands the severity of the spread around jaw inflammation.

The student has information on how to diagnose precancers and malignant tumors in the orofacial area.

The student understands the importance of dental focal infection for the fields of general medicine.

1. Definition and content of the field of dentistry, content of individual subfields

2. Development and eruption of teeth, temporary and permanent dentition, basics of oral hygiene and proper dental care, tooth decay. Basics of dental prosthetics. Periodontal disease - classification of periodontopathies, primary diseases of the oral mucosa, manifestations of general and organ diseases in the oral cavity. Adverse effects of systemic pharmacotherapy on the oral mucosa, periodontium and jaw bones. Adverse effects of radiotherapy in the head and neck area.

3. Anticoagulation and antiaggregation therapy, hemorrhagic diatheses in relation to oral surgery. Focal infection of odontogenic origin

4. Inflammations of the orofacial region, paramaxillary inflammations, odontogenic inflammations of the paranasal sinuses, osteomyelitis of the jaws - etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, complications, treatment. Specific inflammations in the head and neck area

5. Diseases of salivary glands, examination of salivary glands etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment

6. Oncological diseases of the orofacial region

7. Cysts of the jaws and soft tissues of the oral cavity, face and neck. Differential diagnosis of fistulas in the orofacial region

8. Differential diagnosis of nodular syndrome. Differential diagnosis of conditions associated with limited mouth opening

9. Facial traumatology, competence and position of the maxillofacial surgeon in traumatology (isolated and combined injuries, polytrauma, interdisciplinary cooperation)

10. Orthodontics and orthognathic surgery, etiology, diagnosis and classification of orthodontic anomalies, principles of orthodontic therapy and orthognathic surgery, competence of the orthodontist, maxillofacial surgeon and plastic surgeon

11. Differential diagnosis of pain in the orofacial area falling within the field of dentistry
