Student is acquainted with the histopathological classification of dental pulp and periodontal diseases and acquires the necessary knowledge for clinical and X-ray diagnostics of these diseases.
Student is acquainted with manual methods of dental pulp removal and root canal treatment.
Student is informed about the importance of irrigation protocol, correctly made root canal fillimg and postendodontic treatment.
In the summer semester the student gains knowledge of minimally iinvasive dentistry. He is acquainted with the principes and possibilities of aesthetic treatment of teeth in the frontal region.

Student is able to diagnose different diseases of dental pulp and periodontium.

Students will acquire sufficient knowledge for practical implementation of vital dental pulp exstirpation as well as for manual root canal treatment.

Student understands the meaning of irrigation protocol and properly done root canal filling.

Student has sufficient knowledge for practical implementation of endodontic treatment in a patient.

Student understands the importance of X-ray images in endodontics.

Student understands the necessity of an individual approach to the treatment of carious lesions with regard to the overall state of the teeth and the extent of carious defects.

Student has theoretical knowledge for performing aesthetic stratification technique for fillings.

Student knows the possibilities and risks of teeth whitening.

1)Basic theoretical knowledges for endodontic treatment, diagnosis of endodontic deseases 

    and treatment methods for teeth with finished devolpment of the root canal at adult  

    patiens

2) Clinical diagnostic of deep caries, dental pulp  trauma and vital methods of pulp 

    treatment (diract and indiract pulp caping)

3) Clinical diagnostic of pulp inflamation, pulpoperiodontal syndrom and apical 

    periodontitis

4)General rules for root canal treatment, diference among treatment after extirpation of the    

   vital pulp and treatment of the infected rot canal. Tooth trepanation. Opening of pulp 

   chamber, gain access, widening of root canal orifaces and gingival third of the rot canal

5) Estimation of the working length, methods and performance, mechanical root canal

    treatment with hand instruments

6) Function of each root canal instruments, working techniques with them (reaming, filling,

    balanced force) and working methods  (Step back, Crown down), techniques´

    combination and root canals irigations

7) Root canal filling – methods: central cone, lateral cold condenzation and vertical

    thermocondensation. Crown reconstruction after endodontic treatment with plastic

    fillings. Healing posibilities after endodontic treatmnet and  check.

8) Healing options after endodontic treatment and checkups

9) Minmally invasive preparation, use of GIC as a filling material

10) Adhesion and its importance for filling therapy

11) Aesthetic reconstructions in the frontal and distal part of the dentition
