Compulsory elective one-semester course for the third- or fourth-year students. The course represents a multifaceted view of the limitations, developmental and instructional needs of the individuals suffering from specific congenital or acquired defects, illnesses or habits. Individual topics are oriented especially toward the available aids and methods serving in resolution of difficult life situations, particularly with the view toward patient?s usefulness and independence in adulthood.

Povinně volitelný jednosemestrový kurz určený pro 3. nebo 4. ročník.
Kurz představuje mnohostranný pohled na životní omezení, vývojové a výukové potřeby jedinců, trpících specifickou vrozenou nebo získanou vadou, onemocněním nebo návykem. Jednotlivá témata jsou zaměřena zvláště na prezentaci aktuálně dostupných pomůcek nebo metod, sloužících k řešení tíživé životní situace, především s výhledem uplatnění v dospělosti.

The aim is to introduce the students to the wide spectrum of disorders limiting somatic, neuropsychological, sensory and social development of children requiring special care, and with the available methods of their upbringing, education and preparation for practical life.

Cílem je seznámit studenty povinně volitelného kurzu ?Dítě a dospívající s hendikepem? se širokým spektrem poruch, limitujících somatický, neuropsychický, smyslový a sociální vývoj dětí, které vyžadují zvláštní péči a s dostupnými metodami jejich výchovy, výuky a přípravy pro praktický život.

Visits to specialized institutions devoted to health care, upbringing and education of children requiring special care. Integral part of the excursions includes theoretical explanations of the specific problem, personal contact with clients, practical demonstrations of care and education of children with a specific defect or illness, demonstrations of specific situations in communications with the client, etc. The course consists of 30 hours of education, eight visits to specialized institutions, and concludes with a meeting of the class participants and presentation of independent seminar theses on a given topic.

Návštěvy zařízení, specializovaných na zdravotní péči, výchovu a výuku dětí vyžadujících zvláštní péči. V rámci těchto exkurzí je zajištěn vždy teoretický výklad daného problému, osobní kontakt s klienty, praktické ukázky péče a výuky dětí se specifickou vadou či onemocněním, přehrávání specifických situace komunikace s klientem atd.
Kurz v rozsahu 30 výukových hodin zahrnuje úvodní seminář věnovaný obecným informacím o hendikepu, dále sestává z 8 návštěv specializovaných zařízení a je ukončen společným setkáním a prezentací samostatných seminárních prací na vybrané téma.

Introductory seminar addresses the definition, variety and general questions of childhood and juvenile handicaps. Specific topics include etiology, diagnosis, treatment and education of clients with sensory disturbances (dim-sightedness, blindness, hearing and speech problems), chronic illnesses (e.g. oncology-related problems, chronic kidney failure), disturbances of the early neuropsychological development (specialized neurological and rehabilitative care), hipotherapy, alcohol and drug abuse, smoking habits, communications with a handicapped client, and working with the family of the affected child using video training.

Zahajovací seminář zaměřený na definici, spektrum a obecné otázky spojené s hendikepem ve vývojovém období dětství a dospívání. Specifickými tématy, kterým je věnována pozornost z hlediska etiologie, diagnostiky, léčby a zvláště přístupu k výchově a výuce jsou: smyslové poruchy (slabozrakost, slepota, poruchy sluchu, řeči), chronická onemocnění (např. onkologická problematika, chronické selhání ledvin atd.), poruchy časného stadia neuropsychického vývoje (specializovaná neurologická a rehabilitační péče), hipoterapie, abusus drog a kouření, komunikace s hendikepovaným dítětem, práce s rodinou postiženého dítěte s pomocí videotréninku.
