In this course, we will explore the role of ion channels in health and

disease. We will start with an overview of the diversity and molecular

physiology of ion channels to then explore their pathological implication so-

called channelopathies. Cardiac, neuronal, skeletal muscle, and metaboloic

channelopathies will be covered. Finally, we will look at their clinical

pharmacology. This course also contain hands-on experiments in the lab

where students will learn state of the art techniques, especially patch clamp

electriphysiology, to study ion channels.
