State final examination - part Neurobehavioral sciences

State final examination (SFE), part Neurobehavioral sciences, takes place in conference room, first floor, Dean's office building, in terms announced in Vita Nostra Service. The terms are displayed also on the faculty web pages.

Chairman of the commission is always a teacher of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, either neurologist or psychiatrist. Other members are both psychiatrists and neurologists. The commission consists of teachers of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, other Czech Medical Faculties, and also of external specialists (senior consultants, head physicians).

Students are eligible for the exam only after completing the practical part (patient examination) in psychiatry and neurology. Chairmen of departments of neurology and psychiatry, 3rd Faculty of Medicine, agreed the practical exam is performed already during the clinical training in neurology and psychiatry respectively. Clinical skills at practical part of exam are rated only as "passed" or "failed", while the total grade point of the examination reflects the knowledge and the performance in answering respective questions during the oral examination.

At the examination, students will be allotted question numbers by tokens. Always one question from neurology, one from psychiatry and one common question will be drawn.

Prerequisite for the oral SFE in Neurobehavioral sciences registration is successful passing the psychology test assessed on the scale of grades excellent, very good, and good. The classification is a part of the SFE grade. A student may register for written psychology test at the Division of Medical Psychology, 3rd school of medicine, bldg #19. As the psychology test is a constituent of the oral part of the State Final Examination the result is valid for 12 months only. After this interval as well as in case a student fails the oral part of the SFE, the psychology test must be retaken.
