It provides the first principles of neurology ? neurological manifestations of some structural and functional disorders, and teaches the basic neurological diagnostics.
Aim of the course -
Last update: doc. MUDr. Valja Kellerová, DrSc. (15.08.2008)

The main aims of the course are:

a) to present basic principles of neurology,

b) to train students the techniques of the neurological examination (how to perform a routine neurological examination, the differentiation of normal and abnormal findings and their interpretation),

c) to teach students to distinguish syndromes, to determine the site of malfunction and to make topical diagnosis.

After finishing the course students should be able to evaluate and record patient?s neurological status. During practical lessons students have opportunity to analyse clinical findings in some common neurological diseases, discuss their management, diagnostic procedures and therapy.
