The basic scientific methodology. The student is acquainted with principles of scientific investigation, with the characteristics of variables, with the basic principles of measurement, testing of hypotheses and construction of research plans.

The primary aim is to (a) prepare students for critical reading of scientific reports; (b) constructing and exercising research protocols.
