Syllabus -

1. Justice in Czech republic. Organization of justice and public prosecution in Czech republic.
Criminal law, civil law. Basic duties of medical staff.
2. Basic duties of medical staff.
3. Duty to give information and obtain consent to treatment. Implied, express a informed consent.
Informed consent and its legal validity.
4. Professional confidentiality. Situations where the strict duty of professional confidentiality
may be broken.
5. Medical duties in emergencies. Emergency care according to the Czech Penal code (§207 of penal code).
6. Medical malpractice: medical negligence, professional misconduct.
7. Legal resposibilities of the medical staff. Conditions of penal responsibility.
8. Negligence in different medical specialities.
9. Mental diseace and criminal responsibility according to the Czech Penal Code
(insanity §12, decreased mental sanity § 25).
10. Witness. Medical staff as ordinary witness or professional witness.
