Content matter of the preventive dentistry – dental hygiene is teraching about the biofilm of dental plaque, its
biological properties as well as its causative relation to ocurence of most plaque-related diseases of hard dental
tissues and the periodontium. Removal of this biofilm from the tooth surface represents the basic preventive
measure against ocurence and progression of these diseases, and is the primary prevention of most diseases of
stomatognathic system. The students will also lean about the influence of perfect dental hygiene on the patient’s
general health. Understanding this causality is an essential condition for a dentists work.
Further, the students will learn with anatomically predilected sites of plaque cummulation, and train all techniques
of plaque removal in practice and choice of aids for dental hygiene for each specific case.

Náplní preventivního lékařství – dentální hygieny je seznámení s biofilmem zubního plaku, jeho biologickými
vlastnostmi i s jeho kauzálním vztahem ke vzniku většiny plakem podmíněných onemocnění tvrdých zubních tkání i
parodontu. Odstranění tohoto biofilmu z povrchu zubů představuje základní preventivní opatření proti vzniku a
progresi těchto onemocnění a je primární prevencí většiny onemocnění stomatognátního systému. Studenti budou
také seznámeni s vlivem dokonalé zubní hygieny na celkové zdraví pacienta. Pochopení této kauzality je základní
podmínkou pro práci zubního lékaře.
Dále budou studenti seznámeni z anatomicky predilekčními místy kumulace plaku a prakticky budou nacvičovat
všechny techniky odstraňování zubního plaku a s výběrem pomůcek pro zubní hygienu pro každý individuální
případ.
