Přednáškový cyklus se zaměřením na pohraničí provincií Římské říše a související lineární bariéry – tzv. Limes Romanus. Chronologicky je postihnuto období mezi koncem římské republiky (27 př. Kr.) a zánikem Západořímské říše (476 po Kr.). V meritu zájmu stojí především evropské provincie, ve kterých je poznání fungování a organizace limitu na nejvyšší úrovni a kde jsou pozůstatky hraničního systému pod ochranou UNESCO. Součástí kurzu je i úvod do problematiky Římské armády a přesah do období doby římské ve střední Evropě. Atestace formou ústní zkoušky.
