The course focuses on the concept of digital humanities, especially its contributions to the humanities and social sciences. In addition to the recent discussion of the critique of digital humanities, it focuses on the representation of "cultural data" of various kinds in digital environments and their visualization, and marginally also on large-scale language models. The course also includes an introduction to selected tools and practices for data analysis, visualization, and communication. Among the digital tools, the focus is mainly on R, Gephi, OpenRefine and large language models.
