The course is not only an overview of contemporary concepts, approaches and trends in social history, but also an attempt to capture the internal dynamics of key conceptual changes from World War II to the present day. It consists of several notional parts. Firstly (1) the main approaches of the social historiography of the post-war period will be presented - the most important authors, their conceptual tools, thematic fields and possible transformations in their approaches. Further, (2) the interpretation will focus on key theoretical innovations, concepts and theories, especially the last fifty years. Finally, in the summer semester, the course will focus on the social and cultural history of the past twenty years (with emphasis on current authors, their argumentation processes, debates, etc.).
