Cílem předmětu je přehledně seznámit posluchače s německou filosofií 19. století, přičemž jejím těžištěm budou
zejména ty postavy, které se staly základem moderního evropského myšlení, ať už se jedná o vrcholnou romantickou
filosofii (Hegel, Schelling), mladohegeliánství (Feuerbach, Marx, Stirner), ranou modernu (Nietzsche), počátky
psychoanalýzy (Freud) či filosofickou sociologii (Tönnies, Simmel).
