Content
The module introduces the whole concept of the direction of the study – “Outdoor Activities”, organisation and
requirements.
Outline
Lectures:
1. Current trends in society and their influence on the development and using of outdoor activities.
2. Conception of outdoor activities and their reflection in the study programmes.
3. Basic terminology and their equivalents in English.
4. Sources of information and their using.
5. Approaches to learning and education through outdoor activities.
6. Application of outdoor activities and careers in the area of outdoor education.
7. European dimension in the area of outdoor education.
Seminars:
1. Learning about school, state organisations, youth organisations, civic organisations, travel agencies and outdoor
companies using outdoor activities.
2. Analysis of important documents influencing the development of outdoor education programmes in the Czech
Republic and European Union.
3. Work with information in the wide field of outdoor activities.
4. Reading and analysis of a selected book.
