In the course, students are acquainted with basic principles of psychological preparation and learn psychological skills supporting optimal performace and development of achievement.

Aim of the course - Czech

Course Goals:

- the aim of the course is to introduce students to the psychology of coaching in sports, to familiarize them with the basic principles of mental training and psychological preparation

- introduce students to the role psychological skills play in performance (how these skills can influence performance) and how psychological skills can be learned

- to equip students with relevant theoretical knowledge, practical skills and competences, which they will benefit from in independent coaching or teaching practice

Learning Outcomes:

- critically evaluate psychological theories and research related to (sustained) success in sports and performance areas

- apply the basic principles of coaching psychology to the field of sports and physical activities

- evaluate and integrate the basic principles of mental training and psychological preparation in sports

- formulate the key principles of regulation and self-regulation of psychological states

- evaluate, select and use different techniques and strategies for regulation and self-regulation of psychological states in different situations

- apply acquired psychological knowledge, skills and competences in personal and professional life
