Annotation -
In the subject OSP Gymnastics, the student becomes familiar with the theoretical foundations of various areas of the field of Gymnastics and the basics of didactic styles suitable for inclusion in OSP teaching. Knowing the possibilities of the wide use of gymnastic activities and understanding their importance for influencing the personality of OSP enables the application of gymnastic movement programs for the cultivation of the movement expression of various population groups and individuals, fulfilling their needs and expectations.

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is:

To introduce students to the fundamentals and principles of the field of Gymnastics through lectures.

To apply the acquired knowledge and insights in didactic practice during teaching.

To transform this knowledge into acquired expertise in creating purpose-oriented sets of gymnastic exercises.

To develop a specific approach to creative movement.

To acquire suitable methods for managing the educational process.

Upon completing the course, the student will have acquired skills in creating specific gymnastic programs and sets of gymnastic exercises and will be able to implement them in pedagogical practice.

Requirements to the exam -

Requirements for obtaining the credit include:

  • Attendance in the course (both theoretical and practical parts).
  • Submission and approval of a credit assignment: Creating a gymnastic program with music, incorporating equipment or apparatus, for a selected group with disabilities (justification of the program's focus, description of exercises, rhythmic execution, graphic representation).
  • Practical presentation of a portion of the program with music during the course.
  • A written knowledge test on gymnastics and gymnastic terminology.

The topics covered in the course include:

Lectures:

Gymnastics as a field, its history, development, and significance. Gymnastics for people with disabilities. Gymnastic programs and their applications for individuals with disabilities. Professional terminology.

Basic physical training and physical literacy - applications for individuals with disabilities.

Specifics of gymnastic programs - didactic applications for selected individuals with disabilities.

Gymnastics for all - applications for individuals with disabilities.

The relationship between music and movement.

Dances and dance education - applications for individuals with disabilities.

Music-movement composition, movement structure - applications for individuals with disabilities.

Practical seminars:

Creation and implementation of a gymnastic program.

Gymnastics for everyone, practical applications.

Specifics of gymnastic programs for a selected group of individuals with disabilities.

Content of basic physical training. Specifics of physical literacy.

The relationship between music and movement and its practical realization. Gymnastic exercises with music.

Musical pulse. Time signature. Meter. Metric accent. Movement and tempo, its changes, agogics. Rhythm in music and rhythm in movement. Characteristic rhythm. Rhythmization of movement. Dotted and eighth-note rhythms. Rhythmic equipment (castanets, tambourines). Dynamics in movement and music. Dynamic levels. Dynamic changes (sudden and gradual; crescendo - decrescendo). Dynamic arc. Rhythmic exercises.

Integration of gymnastic and dance programs. Creative activities in the creation of music-movement compositions.
