Introduction to history, usage, construction and production of prosthetics and orthotics.
This course will focus on orthopeadical disabilities of both children and adults commonly seen by physical therapists.
Advanced analysis of standing and walking and kinesiological analysis of patients using prosthetic and orthotic aids will be
emphasized. Course content will include also physical therapy evaluation and treatment.
Laboratory activities focus on the application and measurement of these aids, school of walking
and school of grip during normal activities and during exercises. Laboratory to accompany this subject
must be taken concurrently.
