The aim of the course is to give a basic overview of current pharmacology. Students are introduced to the basic concepts of the field and get a basic knowledge of special pharmacology. The main emphasis is placed on the pharmacotherapy of the locomotive organs, which physiotherapists commonly encounter in their practice.

Pharmacokinetics – rout of drug administration, ADME – absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion 3. Drug complications – adverse effects, repeated drug administration, drug interactions (with other drugs, food) 4. Sympathetic agonists and blockers 5. Parasympathetic agonists and antagonists 6. Peripheral and central myorelaxants 7. Pharmacotherapy of hypertension 8. Pharmacotherapy of angina pectoris, hypolipidemics 9. Drugs affecting CNS – hypnotics, sedatives, anxiolytics 10. Drugs affecting CNS – antidepressants, antipsychotics, psychostimulants 11. Drugs affecting CNS – antiseizure drugs, antiparkinsonics 12. Non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs 13. Antirheumatics 14.
