Aim of the course
To grasp the history of world choral singing in its broadest possible sense, from the birth of Renaissance polyphony to the nonartistic music of the 21st century.
To perceive the differences of different historical periods in the field of ensemble or choral singing.
To become familiar with the major composers of choral music and their most important works.
To be provided with a collection of approximately 1000 annotated choral works that can serve as a universal resource when composing a choral program.
To learn to recognize different historical styles by listening.
To be able to generate programs for different types of choirs and nasambles, for various secular or liturgical occasions.
