The course focuses on hydrological processes in wetlands, with emphasis on water retention and accumulation,
runoff formation, and the landscape cooling effect. Part of the course is dedicated to defining wetlands, describing subsurface hydrological processes, and identifying the main factors influencing water retention in hydromorphic soil. Another part focuses on assessing water sources in wetlands and evaluating the impacts of drainage and restoration measures in different soil environments. The goal is to understand how wetlands function hydrologically, including their internal water processes and their varying influence on runoff and water retention, and to demonstrate the diverse impacts of drainage and restoration efforts across different types of wetlands.
