Major fungal pathogens including Candida and thermally dimorphic species. Topics include: innate and adaptive
immunity, nutritional immunity and host cell metabolism as well as fungal virulence

Přednáška pokrývá celé spektrum strategie interakcí houbových patogenů s jejich hostitelem, přičemž jednotlivá
témata se týkají:
- hlavních patogenů představujících největší problémy zejména v medicíně, jakými jsou Candida albicans, C.
glabrata, a jiní zástupci Candida spp., Aspergillus fumigatus, A. flavus a Histoplasma capsulatum a jejich strategie
přežívání v savčím hostiteli
- imunity hostitele a jejího obelstění patogenem
- buněčné morfogeneze a jejího vlivu na virulenci a rezistenci
- buněčné stěny a povrchových proteinů hub ve spojitosti s problémy v medicíně
- využívání živin a obsazování vhodných nik při infekci
- stresové odpovědi a adaptaci patogenů a hostitele
- změnám v metabolizmu hostitele a patogenů
- metod studia využitelných ve výzkumu i v klinické praxi (transkriptomika, metabolomika, proteomika)
