Please note, the lectures are given in Czech language only. A general overview as the basis for a study of the system of bryophytes and as information on current knowledge in individual bryological disciplines (cytology, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, chemistry etc. of bryophytes). The historical development of bryology - an outline of the history of the field internationally and in the Czech Republic. Important bryological literature, periodicals. Methods of studying bryophytes (classical and experimental study), biosystematics. Detailed anatomy and morphology of liverworts, hornworts, and mosses. Ultrastructure, ecological adaptation, ontogenesis, evolutionary biology, cytology, cytogenetics, chemotaxonomy and other branches in the study of bryophytes. Phytogeography of bryophytes - areas, distribution, etc. Cultivation of bryophytes. Applied bryology - ecological and economic importance of bryophytes.
