Students will learn the basics of Hebrew grammar from the Old Testament examples, i.e. script, pronunciation, the most popular vocabulary and the nominal morphology (plural, dual, pronouns) and basic syntactic traits. Sentences are chosen from simpler Old Testament passages, obligatory vocabulary covers key Old Testament concepts.

Studenti se na příkladech ze Starého zákona seznámí se základy hebrejské gramatiky, tj. s písmem, výslovností, nejfrekventovanější slovní zásobou a jmennou morfologií (plurál, duál, zájmenné přípony) a se základními syntaktickými zvláštnostmi (příklonky, jmenná přívlastková vazba). Cvičné věty jsou vybrány ze snadnějších starozákonních pasáží, povinná slovní zásoba se týká klíčových starozákonních pojmů.

Course completion requirements -
Ability to read, analyze and translate the sentence, the knowledge of the basic paradigms and the vocabulary. Before the oral exam, the student will write short tests of morphology and vocabulary during a term.

Schopnost číst, analyzovat a překládat jmenné věty, znát základní jmenná paradigmata a stanovené penzum slovní zásoby. Student píše krátké testy z morfologie a slovní zásoby během semestru, poté přistoupí k ústní examinaci.
