The early modern age was a period of crystallization of basic modernization processes, and therefore bears both the characteristics of the previous and subsequent periods. The subject of interest will therefore be the phenomena of absolutism, confessionalization, specifically religious reformation and counter-reformation, in the area of spiritual development, interest will be focused on the social and economic roots and development of phenomena that we denote by traditional terms such as Renaissance and Humanism, Mannerism and Baroque. The subject is taught in Czech.
