Annotation -
Internal medicine - dental medicine

The subject aims to teach student basic clinical examination used in different fields of internal medicine. The practical take place mainly in 2nd internal department. During practicals students practice physical examination, learn and practice interaction between patient and physician. Special attention is driven to ethical problems.

Lectures are dedicated to:

Haemathology
Anemia. Bleeding disorders. Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Myeloproliferative diseases. Lymphomas, plasmocytoma. Acute and chronic leukemia.
Gastrointestinal diseases
Functional disorders of gastrointestinal tract, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Peptic ulcer disease. Stomach cancer. Inflammatory bowel disease. Colorectal cancer. Cholelithiasis. Inflammatory diseases of gallbladder and biliary ways. Liver failure. Chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. Portal hypertension. Gastrointestinal bleeding. Acute pancreatitis. Pancreatic cancer.
The most common metabolic and endocrinologic diseases.
Malnutrition, obesity. Metabolic syndrome. Diabetes mellitus. Dyslipidemia. Goiter. Hypothyroidism, thyreotoxicosis. Adrenal gland disorders. Osteoporosis. The most common types of mineral imbalance.
Rheumatology:
Rheumatoid arthritis. Ankylosing spondylitis. Sjögren syndrome. Systemic scleroderma. Gout. Osteoarthrosis.
