Annotation

The two-week internship is designed to practice the student's basic knowledge acquired during the course subjects in the field of dentistry. It is aimed at practicing preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of diseases oral cavity in real patients to the extent corresponding to the already completed teaching.

Syllabus

- complete examination of the oral cavity,

- calculus removal and conservative periodontal treatment,

- hygienic instruction of the patient,

- cavity preparation and making of amalgam filling,

- cavity preparation and making a photo composite filling,

- preparation of the cavity and making of the filling from glass ionomer cement,

- application of superficial and infiltration anesthesia,

- performing and reading of intraoral X-ray, OPG,

- performing endodontic treatment of frontal teeth,

- making impressions for removable dental prostheses,

- examination of intermaxillary relations,

- providing  removable prosthesis,

- fixation of the prosthetic crown,

- articulation of prosthetic work.

Entry requirements

Summer practice (duration 2 weeks) can be done at the Dental Clinic of the FN Plzeň or in other dentists' offices in the Czech Republic. They must meet the prescribed syllabi of practice.
