The online lectures will be focused on the interpretation of selected philosophical texts from the ancient origins, through the turn of antiquity and the Middle Ages, the Middle Ages, the modern period, to the key philosophical texts of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Students will become familiar not only with the selected texts but also with the various interpretive methods and where the various interpretations come from, their assumptions. Thus, the goal of the course will be not only to become familiar with key philosophical texts but also to understand how different views and cultural assumptions affect our ability to understand and interpret the core of what is said or written.
