Annotation -
Lessons are focused on function of an eucaryotic cell. Function and diagnostic importance of enzymes are also explained. These concepts are followed by a summary of digestion and metabolism of basic nutrients. Principles of hormonal regulations and an effect of nutrition are included. In seminars is spoken about vitamins, function of liver or heme. Students make practical exercise in clinical laboratory.

Aim of the course -

The primary aim is to inform students about structure and function of the cell, proteosynthesis and importance of enzymes. Lectures are focused on an integration of chemical and physiological knowledge of human body (e. g. digestion and metabolism of carbohydrates). Students should be able to understand the hormonal regulation of metabolism and biochemistry of nutrition.
