Annotation -
This e-learning course is aimed at students on at least A2+ who are preparing for the Academic Reading exam and want to expand their reading comprehension of academic texts. The language of tuition is Czech and German. Required knowledge of Czech at least at level C1.
The course is conceived as training of reading comprehension skills on B2 level with a focus on understanding longer scholarly texts (understanding the gist as well as reading for detail).
The course requires regular fulfilment of assigned exercises and tasks on the Moodle platform. The assignments take up approximately 90 minutes/week.

As of 2021/22, the course culminates in an attestation and is also interchangeable with the separate Academic Reading in the Common Core (ASZNJ2000) exam.

In practice, this means that a student who has the Common Core exam "Foreign Language II - Academic Reading" prescribed in the curriculum can choose to enroll in the stand-alone Zk - code ASZNJ2000, or enroll in the course "Academic Reading" - code ASZNJ3050 or "Academic Reading. E-learning" - code ASZNJ3053, culminating in certification. Attestation of the course will then automatically fulfill the requirement of the 2nd language exam in the common core (the student does not write down the code ASZNJ2000).

Students who do not need the German as a second language Zk but want to improve their work with professional foreign language texts, expand their vocabulary and become familiar with more complex grammatical structures can also enrol in the course.
