El teatro espaňol se puede considerar como una de las vertientes literarias más destacadas en la Península Ibérica, al contar con autores cuyas obras han pasado a formar parte de los clásicos de la literatura mundial.
El curso se centrará en el estudio de estas obras desde el período de la Edad Media, momento en el que apareciera el Auto de los Reyes Magos, pasando por el Siglo de Oro, hasta llegar al siglo XX., durante el cual nos encontramos con escritores como Federico García Lorca o Antonio Buero Vallejo, propulsores del teatro moderno en Espaňa. El estudio de estos autores y sus piezas teatrales será cronológico, de tal forma que los alumnos consigan a lo largo del curso una visión generalizada de esta vertiente de la literatura espaňola. The Spanish theatre can be considered as one of the most outstanding literary forms in the Iberian Peninsula, with authors whose works have become classics of world literature. The course will focus on the study of these works from the period of the Middle Ages, when appear the Auto Sacramental of the Magi, through the Golden Age, to the 20th century, during which we find writers such as Federico García Lorca and Antonio Buero Vallejo, promoters of the modern theatre in Spain. The study of these authors and their plays will be chronological, in such a way that the students will obtain a generalised vision of this kind of Spanish literature throughout the course.
