V průběhu semestru se studenti seznámí s aktuálními trendy v psychologické metodologii a osvojí si nejlepší v současnosti doporučované postupy pro zvýšení kvality a spolehlivosti výsledků, jako i další aspekty návrhu, přípravy, realizace a vyhodnocení experimentálních studií.
Předmět je zaměřen na praktickou výuku experimentální metodologie – studenti ale nebudou vymýšlet a navrhovat vlastní studii tzv. od píky. Studenti budou ve skupinách zpracovávat dílčí části společně realizované metastudie. V dané výzkumné oblasti studenti zvolí vlastní set hypotéz a adaptují specifický experimentální úkol na řešení zvolené podmnožiny otázek. Uvedeným způsobem si tak studenti zopakují (a prohloubí) znalosti o všech fázích designu, realizace a vyhodnocení experimentální studie.

Aim of the course -
Aim of the course: Students will become acquainted with a number of current practical recommendations regarding the design and implementation of experimental studies in psychology. Students will also practice the necessary elements of psychological experimentation.
Learning outcomes and competences: Students can describe the basic characteristics of the experimental approach, its difference from the correlation or observative methodology, its advantages and limitations, they can explain the differences between between- and within-subject designs and give examples of their application, they know the statistical methods appropriate to the given research situations, they are acquainted with ethical requirements for research and understand the issues of internal, external and ecological validity of experimental studies both in the laboratory and in the field, understands the limits and advantages of metastudies and replication studies.
Learning outcomes and competences: Students are able to analyze and propose his / her own study according to the QALMRI methodology, can design suitable experiments for a given question or problem, can plan the study, pre-register and conduct it and evaluate its results with respect to their reliability and generalizability, they know how to prepare informed consent according to the ethical standards, and they can write the outputs of the study in a suitable form.

Cíl předmětu: Studenti se seznámí s řadou aktuálních praktických poznatků a doporučení ohledné designu a realizace experimentálních studií v psychologii. Studenti si taktéž v praxi osvojí nezbytné náležitosti realizace psychologického experimentu.
Získané znalosti: Student umí popsat základní charakteristiky experimentálního přístupu, jeho odlišnost od korelační nebo observační metodologie, jeho výhody a limitace, umí vysvětlit rozdíly mezi between- a within subject designem a uvést příklady jejich aplikace, u obou typů zná příslušné metody randomizace, , zná statistické metody vhodné v daných výzkumných situacích, je seznámen s etickými požadavky pro výzkum a rozumí problematice interní, externí a ekologické validity experimentálních studií jak v laboratoři, tak v terénu, rozumí výhodám i limitům metastudií i principu replikace.
Získané dovednosti: Student umí zanalyzovat a navrhnout vlastní studii dle metodiky QALMRI, umí navrhnout vhodný experimentální design pro zadanou otázku či problém, studii naplánovat, před-registrovat, zrealizovat a její výsledky vyhodnotit a prezentovat s ohledem na jejich spolehlivost a zobecnitelnost, umí připravit vhodně formulován informovaný souhlas a další náležitosti designu nezbytné pro jeho soulad s etickými normami, umí vypracovat výstupy studie v písemné podobě.
