The course focuses on cultural developments in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic from 1939 to the present. The key moments of cultural life of the period will be confronted and analysed not only on the basis of relevant texts of primary literature, but also in the context of the performing, visual and applied arts, as well as the changes in political and social life.

Once per semester, the student will give a presentation related to the topic of the lecture. The course ends with an oral examination.
