It's believed that this technology will change the world, thus requiring
ethical reflection for its development and application. The Ethics of AI+
course offers an engaging online course, "Ethics of AI," in partnership with
the University of Helsinki. It covers ethical aspects of AI and encourages
ethical thinking about its development and practical use. Learn more at www.

Díky rozšíření umělé inteligence do mnoha oblastí lidského života se stala
relevantní pro celou společnost a je důležité hledat zdroje pro etickou
reflexi jejího vývoje a využití. Online kurz „Ethics of AI“ od univerzity v
Helsinkách je základním stavebním kamenem předmětu Ethics of AI+. Tento kurz
vás poutavě uvede do problematiky etických aspektů umělé inteligence a naučí
vás o ní přemýšlet z etického hlediska, včetně praktického využití. Více

semináře a workshopy zaměřené na etiku umělé inteligence.
Aim of the course -

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have a basic overview of:
1. the ethics of AI.
2. examples of good and bad use of AI.
3. issues related to responsibility for the development and operation of AI.
4. the importance of transparency in AI and the risks associated with it.
5. the issue of human rights in the context of the development and use of AI.
6. the issue of fairness in the context of AI, examples of discrimination through AI, and what can be done to make these systems less biased?
7. the possibilities of AI ethics in practice and its future trajectories.
The participation of students in extra events in the form of lectures, workshops or seminars aims to deepen the knowledge acquired by taking the online course "Ethics of AI" or to broaden the horizon of their contextualization.

Po úspěšném absolvování předmětu bude mít student základní přehled o:
1. etice umělé inteligence.
2. příkladech jejího dobrého i špatného využití.
3. otázkách spojených se zodpovědností za vývoj a činnost umělé inteligence.
4. důležitosti transparentnosti umělé inteligence i rizicích s tím spojených.
5. otázce lidských práv v kontextu vývoje i využití umělé inteligence.
6. tématu spravedlnosti v kontextu umělé inteligence, příkladech projevů diskriminace prostřednictvím umělé inteligence a také o tom, co lze dělat pro to, aby tyto systémy byly méně zaujaté?
7. možnostech etiky umělé inteligence v praxi a jejích budoucích trajektoriích.
Účast studentů na doprovodných akcích v podobě přednášek, workshopů či seminářů má za cíl prohloubit znalosti získané absolvováním online kurzu „Ethics of AI“, případně rozšířit horizont jejich kontextualizace.

Evaluation of the online course "Ethics of AI":
Assessment is based on exercises, including multiple choice quizzes and questions that require a written response. Multiple-choice exercises are checked automatically. Written-response exercises are checked by other students (peer assessment) and in some cases by instructors. Passing the course requires successful completion of at least 90 % of the exercises and a minimum of 80 % accepted as passed.
The course is graded on a pass/fail basis (no numerical grade).
Credit for the course is recorded on a rolling basis, usually about once a month.
If the duration of the examination period is relevant to your studies, from our point of view the dates are governed by the MFF UK timetable.
We recommend that you complete the course at least 14 days before the date by which you wish to receive credit (among other things, you may have to wait a while for peer assessment).
A course can only be taken once within a faculty, it is not possible to get credit for it repeatedly.

Hodnocení online kurzu „Ethics of AI“:
Hodnocení je založeno na cvičeních, včetně kvízů s výběrem z několika odpovědí a otázek, které vyžadují písemnou odpověď. Cvičení s možností výběru z více možností jsou kontrolovány automaticky a cvičení s písemnými odpověďmi kontrolují ostatní studenti (vzájemné hodnocení) a v některých případech i instruktoři. Absolvování kurzu vyžaduje úspěšné vyhotovení minimálně 90 % cvičení a minimálně 80 % správnost.
Kurz je hodnocen známkou prospěl/neprospěl (bez číselného hodnocení).
Zápočty za kurz zapisujeme průběžně, obvykle cca 1x měsíčně.
Pokud je pro Vaše studium podstatná doba trvání zkouškového období, z našeho pohledu se termíny řídí harmonogramem MFF UK.
Kurz doporučujeme dokončit alespoň 14 dnů před termínem, do kterého si přejete dostat zápočet (mimo jiné se může stát, že na vzájemné hodnocení budete chvíli čekat).
Kurz je možné v rámci jedné fakulty absolvovat pouze 1x, není možné za něj dostat kredity opakovaně.

The course will consist of a mandatory online course "Ethics of AI", which is free in English. The course can be taken and completed independently at the student's own pace.
The course includes the opportunity to attend various lectures, seminars or workshops focused on the ethics of AI. Participation in these is voluntary and is recommended for those students who wish to deepen their knowledge of AI ethics beyond the online course.

Kurz se bude skládat z povinného online kurzu „Ethics of AI“, který je zdarma v angličtině. Kurz si student může procházet a plnit samostatně svým tempem.
Součástí kurzu je možnost účastnit se různých přednášek, seminářů či workshopů zaměřených na etiku umělé inteligence. Účast na nich je dobrovolná a doporučuje se těm studentům, kteří si chtějí znalosti o etice umělé inteligence prohloubit nad rámec online kurzu.

"Ethics of AI" is an open online course with 7 thematic chapters:
1. Introduction: What is AI ethics?
2. Non-maleficence: What should we do?
3. Accountability: Who should be blamed?
4. Transparency: Should we know how AI works?
5. Human rights: Should AI respect and promote rights?
6. Fairness: Should AI be fair and non-discriminative?
7. AI ethics in practice: How might AI ethics develop?
Each of the chapters contains text and interactive elements designed to promote learning. The online course format will give students the opportunity to schedule the work at their own pace and time. The time commitment to complete the online course ranges from 20-50 hours, depending on prior knowledge of the topic and learning approach.
The "Ethics of AI+" course also offers the opportunity to volunteer for lectures, seminars or workshops focusing on the ethics of AI. The course includes the opportunity to participate in various lectures, seminars or workshops focused on the ethics of AI. Participation is voluntary and is recommended for those students who wish to deepen their knowledge of AI ethics beyond the online course. „Ethics of AI“ ve formě otevřeného online kurzu obsahuje 7 tematicky orientovaných kapitol:
1. Úvod: Co je etika umělé inteligence?
2. Ne-škodlivost: Co máme dělat?
3. Odpovědnost: Koho vinit?
4. Transparentnost: Měli bychom vědět, jak umělá inteligence funguje?
5. Lidská práva: Měla by umělá inteligence respektovat a podporovat lidská práva?
6. Spravedlnost: Měla by být umělá inteligence spravedlivá a nediskriminační?
7. Etika umělé inteligence v praxi: Jak se může vyvíjet etika umělé inteligence?
Každá z kapitol obsahuje textové i interaktivní prvky, které jsou navrženy tak, aby podporovaly učení. Forma online kurzu studentům poskytne možnost si práci rozvrhnout dle vlastního tempa i časových možností. Časová dotace na splnění online kurzu je v rozpětí 20-50 hodin, záleží na předchozí znalosti tématu a studijním přístupu.
Kurz „Ethics of AI+“ dále nabízí možnost se dobrovolně účastnit přednášek, seminářů či workshopů se zaměřením na etiku umělé inteligence. Součástí kurzu je možnost účastnit se různých přednášek, seminářů či workshopů zaměřených na etiku umělé inteligence. Účast na nich je dobrovolná a doporučuje se těm studentům, kteří si chtějí znalosti o etice umělé inteligence prohloubit nad rámec online kurzu.
