The subject „General pharmaceutical Chemistry“ introduces the student into the area of synthetic drugs. The aim of the subject is to bring information on physico-chemical properties of drugs and approaches how to modify these properties with consequences it has for the drugs. Besides this, the stereochemical aspects of the drugs are also concerned as well as basic principles of preparations of prodrugs and general aspects of biotransformations of the drugs. The subject covers also the general parts of the pharmaceutical chemistry that include basic principles of drug nomenclature and main historical milestones of the drug development.
