The course introduces the students to advanced research methodology used in the addiction field. It provides the
students with necessary knowledge and skills to design their own doctoral project and their own future research
projects, but also to make them oriented in the methodology of research of other leading authors.
The course should equip the students with the basic competencies of a researcher in addiction science and
acquaint them with specific procedures, tools and methods used in the research of substance related problems,
behavioral addictions, implementation science and translational research.

Představíme vývoj a současnou podobou kvalitativního a kvantitativního přístupu v adiktologii, s hlavními
myšlenkovými proudy, pozornost bude věnována jak zahraničním, tak domácím autorům a jejich přínosu pro
adiktologii. Prostor bude věnován jednotlivým metodám a metodologickým zásadám při aplikaci kvalitativního i
kvantitativního přístupu (včetně etických zásad) v adiktologickém výzkumu.
Popis struktury předmětu / hl. témata:
1) Úvod:
Typy dat: Kvalitativní vs. Kvantitativní;
Proměnné (diskrétní vs. spojité; čas a místo…);
Typy výzkumných designů;
Observační versus experimentální;
Observační (ekologický, cross-sectional, case control, kohortové);
Experimentální (základní lékařský výzkum, intervenční studie, randomizované kontrolované studie-RCT);
Atd.
2) Popisné metody, korelační metody a analytické metody (ve výzkumu závislostí);
3) Odhady účinku, testování hypotéz a intervaly spolehlivosti:
Odhady účinků: intervenční studie a pozorovací studie;
Riziko, Kurzy, Relativní riziko, Kurzový poměr, regresní koeficient.
4) Zkreslení (Bias):
Výběrová zkreslení, zkreslení informací, confounding atd.
5) Proč, kdy, jak? Zdůvodnění:
Lineární regrese, logistická regrese a analýza přežití;
Poissonova regrese a longitudinální analýza;
Síla a velikost vzorku;
Systematické a náhodné chyby a validační studie;
Etika a validita;
6) Výzkum epidemiologie a farmakoepidemiologie a závislosti.
