This course is aimed at a wide range of students with a general interest in spoken Thai and also in culture.

The course focuses on speaking and listening skills for communicative purposes, on the topics that students
always
encounter such as greetings, a self-introduction, asking and telling personal preference, asking price, asking the
ways,.
ect.

Grammatical structures as well as vocabulary knowledge, sentence building are given and practiced in the
classroom.

Beyond language acquisition, cultural awareness, social values, Thai-ness, beliefs, ect. are also introduced in
both
verbal and non-verbal communication.

Students are requested to participate in interactive learning activities on the topics assigned.
No specific textbooks are used. The lecturer will provide several materials to fit the learning topics both tailor-
made and
from other sources.

Letní semestr
This course the continuation of Listening and Speaking Thai 1 which was given in Winter semester.

The course focuses on speaking and listening skills for communicative purposes, on the topics that students
always encounter on daily basis communication such describing people, comparison structures, telling one’s
experience, ect.

Grammatical structures as well as vocabulary knowledge, sentence building are given and practiced in the
classroom.

both verbal and non-verbal communication.

OBJECTIVES
  • To help students effectively communicate in basic daily situations.
  • To help students have deep understanding of Thai cultures, Thai-ness, beliefs, social
values., etc, in both verbal and non-verbal communication.

  • To help students develop an insight into cross-cultural awareness and compare with

those of Czech in the same aspects as an integral part of language learning

Upon completion of the course, successful students will be able to:
