Inflammatory lung diseases - tuberculosis and pneumonia

Recommended elective course for students of 5th and 6th year

Dates and venue: A series of lectures and demonstrations of patients afternoon after 2 pm on Pneumology clinic after consultation on tuesday , 17th October, 2017 with the teacher as. V.Bártů, PhD .

Block tuberculosis 2 hours

1. Epidemiology of tuberculosis.

2. Issues of vaccination to prevent the spread of the disease, isolation.

3. symptomatology, diagnostic methods (Bactec, MTD, IGRA tests), sputum.

4. The treatment, chemoprophylaxis.

5. Clinical examination, examination of contacts.

6. Multidrug-resistant TB.

Block Pneumonia 2 hours

1. Pneumonia epidemiology, prognosis, risk factors

2. etiology and resistance

3. symptomatology, diagnosis

4. pneumonia in immunocompromised

5. complications - effusion, abscess, empyema

6. treatment of pneumonia, typical and atypical agents

Students from theoretical training will be able to independently investigate the sick, attend ward rounds, bronchoscopy and seminars.
