Seminar 1 (February 23): Information about bachelor thesis and about the course (František Čech, IES) Seminar 2 (March 1): LaTeX (Michal Červinka, IES) The seminar will be interactive, please bring your laptop if you have one and create an account at https://www.overleaf.com/users/sign_in Seminar 3 (March 8): Citation norms and citation managers (Kateřina Turková, FSV library) The seminar will be interactive, please bring your laptop if you have one Seminar 4 (March 15): Academic Writing (Lucie Poslušná, Department of Foreign Languages) Seminar 5A, students who started to study in 2020/2021 or earlier (April 5): Information about the state final exam (Julie Chytilová, IES) Seminar 5B, students who started to study in 2021/2022 or later (April 12): Information about the state final exam (Julie Chytilová, IES) Seminar 6 (May 17): Presentation skills, tips and tricks (Tomáš Richter, IES) Seminar 7 (May 24 - rescheduled from May 10): Discussion with a recent graduate of the bachelor program (Katarína Gömöryová) – state final exam and defence of the thesis + presentation of the graduate - (František Čech, IES) Home assignment (instructions will be sent out on May 10 – deadline on May 22). Students will work in teams and provide (i) recorded thesis presentation, (ii) recorded Q&A session during which students will demonstrate their ability to defend their thesis, and (iii) written feedback evaluating a colleague´s performance. Each student will receive personal feedback. (Michaela Gloverová Konečná – Department of Foreign Languages) Mock defense presentations (June 3 – June 5). Students can use the opportunity to rehearse their defense presentation and get feedback on it from the teachers of the course and from the Department of Foreign Languages. The thesis supervisor and anyone else can be also invited for the presentation. Each student has a 30 minute slot. The mock is available to students who commit to attend Seminars 6 and 7 and submit their Home assignment. |
