Last update: prof. Ing. Barbora Szotáková, Ph.D. (23.06.2023)

To successfully pass the exam, you need basic knowledge about enzymes, their structure, mechanisms of catalysis, regulation of enzyme activity, enzyme kinetics (determination of kinetic parameters Km and Vmax, graphical evaluation of kinetics), how the enzyme reaction can be affected (influence of substrate concentration, pH, temperature, activators, inhibitors, types of inhibition), how enzyme activity is determined (conditions, analytical methods, direct and indirect determination of activity), also about the practical use of enzymes, enzyme isolation, preparation and study of recombinant enzymes.
