Old Testament theology is a kind of royal discipline within the study of the Old Testament. Its essence is to grasp systematically the nature of Old Testament substances in their diversity. The origins of the discipline date back to the late 18th century. Prominent figures of the 20th century include Gerhard von Rad, Walter Eichrodt, Brevard S. Childs, and others. Also in the 21st century, a number of Old Testament theologies have been written. The course will focus on these after outlining briefly the history and methodological crossroads of the previous centuries.

Teologie Starého zákona je svého druhu královská disciplína v rámci studia Starého zákona. Její podstatou je systematicky uchopit povahu starozákonních látek v jejich rozmanitosti. Počátky disciplíny se váží ke konci 18. století. Mezi výrazné postavy 20. století patří Gerhard von Rad, Walter Eichrodt, Brevard S. Childs a další. Také v 21. století byla sepsána řada Teologií Starého zákona. Kurz se bude věnovat právě jim poté, co bude nastíněny stručně dějiny a metodologická rozcestí předchozích staletí.
