Old Testament Exegesis: Chapters from the Book of Exodus
This course, offered annually, is a "workshop" for biblical exegesis and an introduction to biblical theology. Its specific focus (topics and texts) is chosen based on the instructors' ongoing or recently completed projects and is reflected in the course's subtitle for that academic year.
This year, we will focus on what selected passages from the Book of Exodus say about the sanctuary: what it's called, what its purpose is, who is meant to serve in it—and how this sanctuary relates to the historical sanctuaries of ancient Israel. We will see that these passages do not present a single, unified ideology but rather an engaged polemic on how a person can encounter God.

Exegeze Starého zákona: Kapitoly z Exodu
Každoročně vypisovaný předmět, „dílna“ biblické exegeze a laboratoř biblické teologie. Konkrétní zaměření (témata a texty) je voleno v návaznosti na probíhající či čerstvě ukončené projekty vyučujících, a je vyjádřeno podtitulem předmětu v daném akademickém roce.
Letos se zaměříme na to, co vybrané oddíly knihy Exodus říkají o svatyni, jak ji nazývají, k čemu má sloužit, kdo v ní má sloužit -- a v jakém vztahu je tato svatyně k historickým svatyním starověkého Izraele. Uvidíme, že tyto oddíly nepředstavují jednotnou ideologii, ale zaujatou polemiku o tom, jak se člověk může setkat s Bohem.

Předpokladem účasti na kurzu je znalost biblické hebrejštiny. Podmínkou zápočtu je aktivní účast na hodinách (maximálně 3 omluvené absence), příprava na jednotlivé hodiny a vypracování dílčí sondy k otázce týkající se exegetovaných textu (v rozsahu 500-1000 slov).
