The content of the subject expands the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and didactic competence of students in the preparation and implementation of specifically focused programs in water. These programs are aimed at persons with disabilities and impairments and persons requiring special access (children at an early age, seniors, pregnant women). The structuring of the curriculum, illustrative examples and practical exercises enable students to apply the acquired knowledge, skills and didactic competence to the management of programs with this content. The graduate of the course is able to independently and creatively create and implement water programs for this population.

The aim of the course is the development of didactic competences (e.g. adequately communicating instructions, feedback, correction, organizing teaching, etc.) acquired in the bachelor's degree. Through these skills, students should be able to organize and lead a specifically focused program in water for OSP (pregnant women, young children, seniors, people with health impairment and disabilities). After passing and completing the course, the student understands the importance and influence of the physical properties of the aquatic environment on the human organism (intact population and OSP). The student is able to independently plan, manage and evaluate the compiled program and is able to respond adequately to the current conditions and possibilities (health, exercise, etc.) of students and clients. As part of a program compiled for a specific OSP population, the student can choose adequate conditions (e.g. pool area) and aids. The student is able to demonstrate basic swimming skills, swimming methods (crawl, backstroke, breaststroke), swimming turns and starts, modifications of swimming methods, elements of aqua-fitness and synchronized swimming. The student knows the key points of basic swimming skills, the technique of swimming styles, turns and starts, knows the didactic procedure of their training, can provide adequate feedback and contact assistance. The student knows the didactic management styles of teaching and, if necessary, can use them during the implementation of the program. As part of an exercise program in water focused on aqua-fitness, he can prepare and implement exercises with musical accompaniment, he can choose adequate aids and use them effectively. The student is able to evaluate the compiled program, the teaching lesson and the teaching of the lesson by another person/student. Last update: Hubená Kristýna, PhDr., Ph.D. (31.08.2023)
