The subject of gymnastics provides both fundamental theoretical and practical introduction to a range of movement skills in the field of basic gymnastics, encompassing exercises without apparatus, exercises with apparatus, and routines on selected apparatus. These are executed both with and without musical accompaniment. The content of the gymnastics course establishes a foundation for conscious control of body movements and its various parts. During instruction, emphasis is placed on understanding the physiological effects of different exercise groups and the variability of their difficulty levels. Furthermore, students learn basic didactic principles for designing and presenting group exercises aimed at creating health-oriented physical activity programs.
Aim of the course -
Last update: PhDr. Adam Zdobinský (11.10.2023)

Upon completing the gymnastics course, the graduate is capable of designing and implementing gymnastic exercise programs in conjunction with music, focusing on fostering conscious and controlled movement. They can create programs for enhancing health, professional development, and physical fitness.

The student can explain the benefits of gymnastics for a healthy lifestyle and succinctly describe the content of basic gymnastics.

They have a grasp of fundamental concepts in music theory (in relation to movement) and the selection of musical accompaniment for both fast and slow forms of exercise.

The student understands the importance of warming up and can describe its various components.

They can describe, specify, and rhythmize exercises without apparatus for mobility and strength (core, arms, and legs).

The student can apply (describe, specify, and rhythmize) a range of basic exercises with apparatus (jump ropes, medicine balls, Indian clubs, bars, expanders, small weights).

They are familiar with the principles of circuit training and can compile a workout program of this type.

The student can describe the basic positions and movements of exercises, as well as depict individual exercises through graphic representations of movement.

They are capable of applying, modifying, and varying the difficulty of exercises in a group presentation.
