PFZD002 - Bachelor Thesis - Defence The student shall attend the defense at the date and time specified in the electronic invitation sent via the SIS system. Immediately before the defense, the student must submit all parts of the "Logbook of Professional Internships in Orthotics and Prosthetics (Logbook Part I–VI)" to the examination committee. The committee will review the submitted materials after the conclusion of the bachelor’s thesis defense. During the defense, the student presents the theoretical foundations, objectives, methodology, and results of their bachelor’s thesis, enriched with discussion (a PowerPoint presentation is recommended). The presentation is limited to a maximum of 7–10 minutes. The student should not address any comments from the supervisor's and opponent's reports within the presentation. Following the student's presentation, the committee chair invites the thesis supervisor and then the opponent to present their evaluations. If either the supervisor or the opponent is absent, their reviews are read in full. The student then responds to questions posed by both the supervisor and the opponent. This is followed by a public discussion, during which any member of the committee may ask questions and engage in discussion. After the public discussion, a "closed" discussion takes place, in which the committee evaluates the student's performance, the quality of the presentation, and other relevant aspects of the thesis defense. After this deliberation, the committee concludes the defense with an overall assessment. Immediately following the closed discussion, the committee chair informs the student of the final evaluation of the defense. A student who successfully defends their bachelor’s thesis proceeds directly to further theoretical examinations.
NOTE: The opinions of the thesis supervisor and the thesis opponent are published in SIS at least 3 days before the theoretical state examination date. Last update: Vomáčková Helena, PhDr. Mgr., Ph.D. (21.01.2025)
