Annotation
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic chapters of surgical disciplines and to present the latest innovations in these fields. Emphasis is also placed on the manifestations of individual diseases in the musculoskeletal system. Selected typical patients in relation to subsequent physiotherapy will also be demonstrated.

Aim of the course

Learning outcomes:
The aim of the course is to equip students with such knowledge, skills, and general competencies that after completing:
- demonstrates knowledge and ability to describe the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical manifestations of surgical, orthopedic, and traumatological diseases.
- demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic - basic clinical examinations in surgery and additional examinations both invasive and non-invasive.
- demonstrates knowledge of basic therapeutic approaches in surgical orthopedic and traumatological diseases
- demonstrates skill in the context of the basic stage of treatment of diseases and injuries, ie in the ability to provide first aid
- demonstrates the ability to act in the prevention of complications and in the treatment of endangered patients
- demonstrates the ability to evaluate the manifestations of individual surgical diseases in the musculoskeletal system understands the principles of management in orthopedic and trauma departments

1. Nature and history of surgery, extension disciplines, relation of surgery to rehabilitation. Wound - physiology of wound healing, types, principles of treatment. Disinfection and sterilization, asepsis method. Infection in surgery. Local and general anesthesia, basics of resuscitation.
2. History, medical history, objective examination in surgery. Examination methods in surgery.
3. Fundamentals of traumatology (types of fractures, dislocations, treatments, dressings, shock, polytraumatisms, post-traumatic complications).
4. Preparation of the patient for surgery. Thermal injuries, methods of treatment.
5. Postoperative care, complications and their prevention in surgery. Obecná onkochirurgie. Breast cancer.
6. Head injury. Surgery of the neck.
7. Injury of peripheral nerves and spine. Chest injury.
8. Gastroenterosurgery. Sudden episodes of abdominal, inflammatory, ileo bleeding into the gastrointestinal tract.
9. Surgery of arteries and veins.
10. Limb injuries, pelvic fractures.
11. Anatomy and physiology of female genital organs, congenital malformations. Congenital malformations of the genitals.
12. Examination methods in gynecology. Physiological pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium. Menstrual cycle disorders. Inflammation of the genitals. Sterility and fertility.
13. Contraception. Deviation of genitals and their treatment. Pathological pregnancy. Birth. Šestinedělí. Obstetric operation.
