The course focuses on developing education in the Czech multicultural society. It enables students to understand and perceive variety and differences among people from different cultures as a positive phenomenon. The aim of the course is to support development of relationships among cultures. Students learn to use their communication skills and improve cooperation with people of different socio-cultural background. Analysis and understanding of variety should create motivation to intercultural interactions, should support the feeling of solidarity and ability to reflect social and economical inequality.

1. Multicultural education as a cross-sectional topic in Framework Education Programme (RVP) and School Education Programme. 2. The definition of basic terms (integration, assimilation, inclusion, stereotypes, xenophobia, rasism, gender issues). 3. Culture traditions of different nations and ethnic groups. 4. Different symbols in communication, communication barriers, etiquette. 5. Topical issues of teaching multicultural education. 6. Sources of information for teaching multicultural education. 7. Specific methods of teaching multicultural education with examples.
