The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the basic theoretical concepts and approaches to the construction of gender identity and differences and their application in the field of education and health. We will get acquainted with the concept of gender and a brief historical development of its study, we will connect with the concept of intersectionality, drawing attention to the need to situate gender in the context of other social identities and positions in the social order. At the level of application, we will focus on the field of education in terms of classroom relationships, but also school space, curriculum or teaching aids. We will further focus on the context of health, including both physical and mental health.

Cílem předmětu je seznámení se základními teoretickými pojmy a přístupy ke konstruování genderové identity a odlišnosti a jejich aplikace v oblasti vzdělávání a zdraví. Seznámíme se s konceptem genderu a stručným historickým vývojem jeho studia, propojíme s konceptem intersekcionality upozorňujícím na nutnost vnímat gender v kontextu dalších sociálních identit a postavení v společenském řádu. V rovině aplikace se zaměříme na oblast vzdělávání ve smyslu vztahů ve třídě, ale i školního prostoru, kurikula či pomůcek. Budeme se věnovat souvislostem v oblasti zdraví a to jak fyzického, tak duševního.
